2009 Jean Marc Brocard Chablis Domaine Sainte Claire

Chablis, France
12.5% alc.
$9 at 4th Ave Seattle, WA (purchased 5/15/13)

20130526_155551_resized (2)Straw yellow color with just the slightest hints of green. Crisp nose of apple and minerals with a touch of oak. Clean on the palate with apple, lemon, lime, and a stoney minerality. This is what I might imagine limestone to taste like. The stoniness provides for a juicy finish that is medium and lingering in length with great acidity and slight tartness. Very refreshing, crisp, and needs food. A thumbs up and probably a good deal for Chablis. Glad I took the chance and grabbed a couple at the sale price. I also saw this at the Renton store recently. By the way, this had a Stelvin closure.

I got it at the 4th Ave Seattle store. I can’t swear to it, but I’d be surprised if there’s any more there. It was getting pretty low when I was last there a week or so ago.

seedboy, don’t hold your breath about seeing this in CA. The importer changed distributors up here in WA a few months ago, and this is no doubt leftover stock at the old distributor.
