Oriel 2010 “Linnéa” Pinot Noir rosé

Russian River Valley, CA
3% Syrah, 2% Zinfandel; 13.5% ABV
$4 at the Berkeley, CA, store on May 25
Was an excess buyer’s sample sold as a one-off.

2010_Oriel_PinotNoirRoseContinuing with the Oriel wines I bought as excess buyer’s samples…  This wine was pretty good at first, showing flavors of pink and orange peaches, tangerine, and less ripe strawberries, with a little minerality.  However, after about an hour of drinking it from the bottle (kept in the fridge), it became more delicate and subtle, blending in some pink / orange rose / orange blossom as well.  Should this ever show up as a regular offering, I’d suggest a good GO price would be about $7.

The next day, the rest of the bottle was still pretty good, but a little more simple.
