Silverdale, WA 13% alc. (Purchased on 7/26/13)
Back label says it was “Bottled by AWD Cellars, St. Helena, CA” and “imported by AW Direct” (from whom we’ve seen many wines at GO).
Clear medium purple/garnet; raspberries and blackberries with a touch of smoke in the nose. In the mouth it’s more underripe raspberries and tart pie cherry; light tannins and a pretty simple effort…certainly at the very tart, slightly acidic, lightly fruity and austere end of the Shiraz spectrum. May be an o.k. food wine, but it just didn’t have enough oomph to complement our char-grilled NY strip steaks tonight. Not a repeat buy for me by any stretch. Another bottle of either Palmeri Syrah would have been oh so much better with our beef.
