Web indicates it’s from Pear Tree Wines in NZ. Link told me little, so I’m not including it. Brilliant pale straw; very aromatic nose that’s less of the typical gooseberry and more cat piss. After about an hour, I began to pick up a sort of spearmint quality. My wife thought grapefruit and a kind of piney quality. I get the grapefruit too, but jury’s still out on the pine. Quite dry, tart and citrusy on the palate…almost leaning toward the puckery, astringent end of the tartness spectrum. Back label acurately describes it as “lemon, lime citrus with fine minerality”. Perhaps a bit too austere for me, but higher acidity lovers may really enjoy this SB.
