I thought the first of two Italian whites I got recently at the SF store, imported by Vintelligence, was quite good. This one, however, I should have left on the shelf.
The wine has a lovely nose of yellow apple and pear, lemon, slightly floral, but the palate does not follow through. While it’s not spoiled, the fruit is rather faded, and the taste is dominated by bitter, toasted oak. I’d give this Drinkable if it were $4 or maybe $5, but at this price I have to go with Thumbs Down.
