Sonoma Valley, CA; 14.3% ABV
$4 at the Richmond, CA, store on 5 March. Also seen at Berkeley 10 March.
This wine, apparently from a small operation in Sonoma Valley, seemed like it might be good. Unfortunately, however, I can’t recommend it.
While the wine has some typical Sauvignon Blanc flavors of yellow / white melon and lemon, these are quite light and are overwhelmed by a weird oak / artificially flavored candy flavor. It’s not totally unpleasant, and it’s pretty close to Drinkable, but I have to go with Thumbs Down.
