Quickfire Top Chef Selection as some have noted is a private label made by Terlato. The label suggests that this label is made to go with food, hence the Top Chef designation. Some marketing says “Top Chef, Bravo’s James Beard Award-winning food show, has paired with top winemakers to craft elegant wines that are refined, well balanced and food friendly.” This wine seems to typically sell for around $15.
Tropical nose with light pineapple, lemon, oak, and a little butterscotch. Creamy texture in the mouth giving way to fruit of kumquat, lemon, orange, and vanilla. Nicely balanced with no one flavor dominating and I was surprised that the pineapple on the nose was more subdued on the palate. Medium finish that maybe lacks a little crispness, but overall a pretty tasty wine. A thumbs up for me and worth a try if you see it around and I would buy it again.
