Silverdale, WA 12% alc. (Purchased on 5/28/14)
Brilliant, beautiful green/golden color. Very pleasant aromatic nose of unadorned (i.e. unoaked) Chardonnay fruit; spiced vanilla, citrusy lemon and a touch of Creamsicle. Soft and lush on the palate with lots of sweet/tart lemon, buttered toast, Granny Smith apple and some peach pit/almond flavors. There’s a slight bitterness that doesn’t really detract from the overall fruit qualities. Simple, straightforward, tasty. Kind of the dry Riesling of the Chardonnay world. Should be a decent food wine when you don’t want oak fighting the food.
