Fachada 2013 Sauvignon Blanc

Central Valley, Chile; 13.5% ABV
imported by A W Direct
$5 at the Oakland, CA, store on 18 Dec

Fachada_2013_SauvBlancOn the first night, this wine was reasonably tasty but, to me, hardly exciting.  It showed softer fruit of yellow flowers and yellow grapefruit, white of melon rind, some minerality, and some bitterness of greenish grape skin / less ripe gooseberry.  Actually, the tastiness of the sharper finish was my favorite aspect of the wine.  The acid was on the crisper side, but not terribly strong.

The next day, I liked it better.  The flavors were more forward and better integrated, the acid was more crisp, and overall the wine was more tasty.  I was still not wild about it for the price, but it’s perfectly Drinkable.
